In this day and age, there are so many tools that can be used to market your business. Social media advertising has become an extremely popular and cost-effective way to quickly and easily update consumers on your business, events, and promote your company daily. Although Facebook and Twitter are great social media sites to market businesses of all sizes, Instagram is the social media platform that is often considered to be the “future” of social media advertising.
I’m sure that you’ve heard the phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words”. Well, with using Instagram as a tool to advertise, the picture that is being used is the obvious focal point of the post, and the caption that is written below it is looked at second. Therefore, the pictures that you choose to post on Instagram should be visually stimulating enough to make the person scrolling through their feed stop moving their thumb and taking a look at your eye catching post! By using filter and editing apps such as VSCO and Snapseed, you can turn any picture into a work of art that will be sure to catch everyone’s attention, leading to higher engagement and gaining more followers.
Instagram is visual content. One of the reasons that Instagram is doing so much better than other social media sites to content market companies of all sizes is because consumers are visual. Think about when you’re sitting down at a restaurant and looking at the menu. What catches your attention first? Chances are your eyes first gravitate toward the menu items that have a photo next to it instead of the menu items that don’t provide a visual photo. It’s true that 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual, while 40% of people will respond better to visual information than just plain text. When people are actually seeing what is available to them, instead of just reading about it, it results extremely higher engagement!
The use of hashtags is so helpful to target the audience that you are aiming for. Instagram is such a huge social media network with people from all over the world (over 500 million active monthly users to be exact). There are businesses of all industries imaginable using this social platform to grab attention from others in their industry and make themselves stand out amongst the competition. By using hashtags that are related to your business, it helps narrow down the views that you get to people that are related to the industry you’re in. For example, on Modern Talent’s Instagram, the hashtag #PromotionalModels and #BrandAmbassador is always used on posts in order to help find new Talent to join our team!
One of my personal favorite things about using Instagram for business is that it’s really FUN! There are endless ways that you are able to grab the attention from followers. Everyone loves a funny meme, joke, or a relatable quote that makes them laugh. It’s fun to go through photos, edit them and come up with fun and engaging captions. Coming up with new content to post to Instagram is basically like an art creation that is going to be unique to your business!
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and not everyone is going to be skilled at the art of making a home-cooked meal. Nothing would be worse on this holiday than making a meal or dessert for your friends and family and noticing that no one is eating it, or pretending to enjoy a few bites to be polite, then discretely tossing the rest in the garbage can. If you’re the family member or the friend in your friend group who is assigned to bring the non-food items to a Thanksgiving dinner such as extra serving bowls, tablecloths, or even the napkins, there is a chance that the host knows that you should stay away from the kitchen!
If you’re not the one that’s hosting Thanksgiving or bringing any of the main dishes for the meal, don’t feel as though you can’t still please the crowd. There’s so many options of beverages that you could bring along that everyone will love. It’s true that you don’t need to be a professional chef to “wow” everyone at the gathering! Whiskey and wine are great options for a Thanksgiving meal, because they pair well with the aromas, tastes, and spices that are in common Thanksgiving dishes. Here are a few ideas of whiskey and wine products that will be a huge hit, and won’t require any time in the kitchen either (you can’t burn wine), so it’s a win-win for you and the other guests.
2 Gingers Irish Whiskey: 2 Gingers Irish Whiskey is the perfect crowd-pleaser whiskey. It’s been called “the whiskey for non-whiskey drinkers” because of the sweet vanilla and caramel flavors, and its smooth finish. The delicious “Big Ginger” cocktail only requires ginger ale with lemon and lime garnish, so it’s easy for anybody to make! This whiskey pairs wonderfully with a smoked turkey.
Mumm Napa Brut Rosé: The holiday season is the perfect time for some “pop, fizz, and clink” with a sparkling wine. Mumm Napa has a great selection of sparkling wine at a very reasonable price point. The Mumm Napa Brut Rosé in particular will pair well with basically anything that’s on the Thanksgiving buffet. The wine’s dryness tastes wonderful with turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. While at the same time pairs perfectly with sweet foods such as sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pie. You really cannot go wrong by walking in the host’s front door with a bottle of rosé!
Gentleman Jack: This classic Tennessee whiskey has just the right amount of caramel and dry fruit notes, with a smooth and smoky finish that would pair well with turkey and squash dishes. It would cater well for the guests who are more experienced whiskey drinkers that enjoy a glass of whiskey on the rocks, especially while watching the football game from their comfiest living room sofa.
Josh Cellars Pinot Noir: A good pinot noir is essential for a Thanksgiving meal. Why is this? Because the soft tannins in the red wine with the tart acidity pair amazingly well with rich dishes being served. Thanksgiving meals generally have a lot of earthy flavors, and the herbal notes in Josh Cellars Pinot Noir will compliment the meal perfectly. You may have to pick up more than one bottle of Pinot, because with dinner most wine lovers will want more than one glass!
If you still can’t decide what kind of wine will go over well at your gathering, check out your local liquor stores, because there’s a good chance that one of our Wine Professionals or Promotional Models from Modern Talent will be sampling all different types of options of wine and liquor products to sample and pick up. No matter what it is that you bring to Thanksgiving, whether it’s the turkey, wine, or even the napkins…the most important thing is that it’s a holiday spent with your favorite people!
If you have ever attended a Trade Show of any kind, a launch party for a new product or service, a bar, or any other live event, chances are that you have seen or had a conversation with a Promotional Model. These outgoing, fun, attractive men and women are staffed to grab the consumer’s attention, educate them on the product or service that they are promoting, and leave a positive lasting impression leading to more word-of-mouth business and marketing. Statistics show that 74% of consumers identify word-of-mouth advertising as a key influencer in their purchasing decision. Promotional Models are becoming a more and more popular form of advertising, and are an incredibly useful and impactful asset for any event.
The Promotional Modeling Industry has been around for decades, and is a marketing strategy that is used all around the world. As popular as this industry is continuing to become, there are many common misconceptions that people have about what exactly Promotional Modeling involves.
Myth #1: Men Cannot Be Promotional Models:
While it is true that most of our Promotional Model staff are women, we also have men that are Models for Modern Talent. There are many opportunities for men to work In-Store Demos, Bar Promotions, Trade Shows, Wine Tastings, and more.
Just like Modern Talent’s women Promotional Models, we hold the same standard for male talent that they MUST be reliable, outgoing, and friendly in order to continuously be booked for events.
Myth #2: It’s an “Easy” Job:
“Don’t Promotional Models just stand around and hand out free samples and look pretty?”
I’ve heard this statement before, and it couldn’t be more wrong. Promotional Models are booked as a voice for the brand that they are representing, and are fully educated on what they are promoting. Some Promotional Modeling shifts can be 8+ hours long of standing and walking around while talking to countless people, which takes a lot of energy and stamina. Not everyone is able to keep a smile on their face for THAT long of a period of time. Especially when wearing high heels or being outside in the freezing winter months or hot summer. Not so easy!
Myth #3: Promotional Models Only Dress in “Skimpy” Attire
Although there may be certain events where the company will want their Promotional Model to wear a bathing suit, or tight and revealing attire, but it is not always the case. Most of the time, the Model will be assigned to wear black bottoms with a logo t-shirt or tank, an athletic-type jersey for sport focused events, or other not so revealing types of outfits. When a Model is invited to an event on PopBookings, they are already aware of what kind of attire that will be worn before they apply to be booked. That way, a Promotional Model won’t be booked for something where they wouldn’t feel comfortable.
Myth #4: You Need to Have Modeling Experience
If you have already worked as a Model or Promotional Model in the past, that’s great!
However, already having experience in the Promotional Modeling industry is not necessary to be booked for events with Modern Talent. Most people who want get into Promotional Modeling are already outgoing, good with people, and are passionate about their work. If someone has experience as a bartender or waiter/waitress, or worked in the retail industry, those are excellent skills and past experience to bring up in an interview for a Promotional Modeling job!
Our Promotional Models at Modern Talent are charismatic, outgoing, and friendly with the customers that they are communicating with. Along with being friendly and educational on a product that is being demonstrated at an event, body language from a salesperson is a huge factor in the way a person is perceived by a consumer. Non-verbal communication is just as, if not more important than the verbal conversation that our Brand Ambassadors are having with customers. There are little changes that a salesperson can make to be more aware and conscious of their body language while they are working, or in any other social situation!
To be more specific about what exactly our body language is, it is simply our body movements, posture, as well as our head and hand movements. Since a first impression of someone will always be based on what mood that they appear to be in, a good salesperson can turn into a great one just by improving their posture, gestures, and movements to engage in better conversation with a consumer. By making small changes in our body language, it will add an even more positive and friendly vibe to the encounters with consumers. Did you know that 70% of buying experiences are based on how the customer feels they are being treated? By just being aware of how you are being perceived from your body language, it is almost certain that personal sales goals will be easier to reach!
Our posture reflects our emotion, attitude, and our intentions. When trying to sell a product, no matter what that product is, it’s important to be conscious of how we appear to others. Little things that sometimes we don’t even notice that we are doing gives off a negative first impression to a person. These include folding arms while standing, looking down or looking at your phone, and having a resting face where no positive emotion is being shown. These actions are considered to be “closed” body language. Nobody wants to talk to someone who looks like they don’t want to be approached. Although we can’t always help what our facial expression is because we aren’t always looking at ourselves in a mirror, it makes a world of a difference to be smiling and inviting to customers rather than stoic and looking uninterested. Any customer walking into a store would much rather want to approach someone who is open and inviting, facing them, and appears eager and excited to educate them on a product.
Being the right distance away from a customer will also make an impact on how comfortable they feel interacting with a new person. Standing too far away from someone is both awkward and makes it hard for there to be any substantial conversation between the Promotional Model and the consumer. Standing at the right personal distance where facial expressions and eye movements can be easily be seen and interpreted by others is the most beneficial when engaged in a conversation while showing positive and “open” body language!
Whether a person is trying to sell a product or service, or is trying to improve the way that they are perceived by others in their personal and dating life, making positive changes to your overall non-verbal body language by becoming more aware of posture, facial expression, and movements can make the world of a difference in success when interacting with people you just met.
