Instagram is visual content. One of the reasons that Instagram is doing so much better than other social media sites to content market companies of all sizes is because consumers are visual. Think about when you’re sitting down at a restaurant and looking at the menu. What catches your attention first? Chances are your eyes first gravitate toward the menu items that have a photo next to it instead of the menu items that don’t provide a visual photo. It’s true that 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual, while 40% of people will respond better to visual information than just plain text. When people are actually seeing what is available to them, instead of just reading about it, it results extremely higher engagement!
The use of hashtags is so helpful to target the audience that you are aiming for. Instagram is such a huge social media network with people from all over the world (over 500 million active monthly users to be exact). There are businesses of all industries imaginable using this social platform to grab attention from others in their industry and make themselves stand out amongst the competition. By using hashtags that are related to your business, it helps narrow down the views that you get to people that are related to the industry you’re in. One of my personal favorite things about using Instagram for business is that it’s really FUN! There are endless ways that you are able to grab the attention from followers. Everyone loves a funny meme, joke, or a relatable quote that makes them laugh. It’s fun to go through photos, edit them and come up with fun and engaging captions. Coming up with new content to post to Instagram is basically like an art creation that is going to be unique to your business!
