Meet The Team

Christin Virden Johnson
Founder & CEO
Christin's career in the promotions industry started in 2005 when she was hired as the Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota State Supervisor for All-State Promotions, the sister company to Sidney Frank Importing. She ran all of the promotional talent for Sidney Frank's brands for eight years until their talent-hiring structure changed in 2012.
In 2013, Modern Talent was born and Jägermeister, Sidney Frank’s largest brand, was her first client. Christin developed great relationships with distributor reps during her time at All-State Promotions, so Modern Talent hit the ground running.
The company has come a long way in the last 10 years, and Christin is extremely dedicated to its success. She continues to set big goals and has high hopes for the future of Modern Talent.
Another huge passion in Christin’s life is dog rescue. She volunteers her time on the event committee for Safe Hands Rescue. It’s important for her to feel like she’s making a difference, saving dogs' lives, and it motivates her to keep helping more abused and neglected animals. Christin and her husband Jay have two pups of their own who they treat like children, and spoil on a daily basis!

Laura Wooding
COO
Laura joined Modern Talent as the Operations Manager in June of 2022. She leads the team by working directly with clients to finalize event details and makes sure the entire business is running smoothly in the day-to-day. Laura's role is complex and requires a lot of attention to detail.
Prior to joining the team, she spent her career honing her customer service and operations management skills working in all aspects of the hospitality industry. She was born and raised in Wichita, KS. She attended the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk) where she studied English Literature and Art History. After college she spent the better part of 10 years moving to as many major cities in the midwest as possible - Chicago, then Kansas City, before settling in the Twin Cities.
Outside of work, she loves filling her home with thrifted goods, spending time with her animals, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.

Christina Johnson
Talent Manager
Christina worked as a Brand Ambassador for Modern Talent starting early 2022. She then joined the other side of the business part-time as a Talent Manager in July 2022, and one month later was offered a full-time role, which she eagerly accepted. She has over ten years of experience as a Brand Ambassador, benefitting in the staffing and scheduling process. She enjoys working both sides of the business and thoroughly enjoys working for a woman-run company and finds excitement in the fast-paced work environment.
Christina grew up in Minnesota and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies at the University of Minnesota-Moorhead. Away from work she enjoys being a dog mom and spending time in the outdoors, attending concerts and sporting events, and traveling with her husband, with their favorite spot for vacation being Riviera Maya, Mexico. When there is extra time, her guilty pleasure is watching reality tv curled up on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn and a glass of white wine.

Sarah Voehl

She moved into a management position in the summer of 2021 and works to ensure all of the brand ambassadors are prepped and prepared for their events and that our clients receive accurate reports of every shift.

Amanda Dorff

Amanda started out as a Brand Ambassador with Modern Talent and became the Recruitment Manager in the Fall of 2019. Amanda was born and raised in and near Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in English. Shortly after, she married her Marine and moved to Camp Pendleton, California. They started their family in 2007, and moved back to Minnesota in 2013. When she gets time to herself, Amanda takes pleasure in a great Bordeaux while reading a book or enjoying a delicious margarita while binge-watching the latest show.
